Associate Vice President of Human Resources

Senior administrator responsible for administering the University’s human resources policies and procedures on the Reynolda Campus. Major functions include staff personnel services (employment, compensation, employee relations, and training), benefits administration, and responsibility for the integrity of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) database.


Assistant

Coordinates the daily activities of the Office of the Vice President. Maintains status information pertaining to the department’s operating budget. Provides general information and guidance regarding human resources policies and procedures. Provides administrative support for the University’s efforts on behalf of the United Way campaign. Provides referrals to subject matter experts in the department.

Responsible for delivery of HR service across campus through leadership of the HR Service Center and HR Partner teams.  This role analyzes HR processes and operations for areas of improvement and works with all HR subject primes (Compensation, Benefits, Compliance and HRIS) to implement HR services across campus.  The Director works closely with HR Partners and Staff Department Heads for resolution of employee relations issues.  This role is a senior HR leader with participation on campus initiatives and projects.

HR Partners provide guidance and support to leaders and staff of designated departments on issues related to performance management, employee relations, leadership development and change management. HR Partners understand all operational facets of the departments they support, including strategic objectives, financial matters and personnel issues in order to deliver the most effective solutions possible. As HR Generalists, the HR Partner answers many employee and manager questions regarding benefits, employment, work life, professional development and learning, and compensation and serve as liaisons with their HR colleagues for issues that require specific functional expertise./

Provide information, procedural guidance and executes transactions related to Human Resources (HR) programs and services for potential, current, and retired employees. (Population served includes staff, faculty, Graylyn and Reynolda House, student employees, and other affiliated persons). Work collaboratively with HR team, other departments (hiring managers, HR liaisons,Payroll, Budget office, etc), vendors, and related personnel to execute HR transaction and basic reporting services in an efficient, effective and customer-centered manner. Use advanced systems and automated processes to deliver services, provide information, and track service levels. (HR Transactions processes in the Service Center include the employment process (e.g. hiring and onboarding new employee), benefits (e.g. medical, dental, retirement savings, tuition reimbursement, etc), processing pay changes, supporting key HR events, etc.)

Director, Compensation, Benefits and HRIS

Responsible for the University’s compensation, benefits and HRIS programs. Provides strategic direction and management of the compensation and classification system as well as benefits programs to include defined contribution retirement plans, medical and dental insurance, life insurance, tuition concession, long-term disability insurance, medical and childcare flexible spending accounts, and the absence management programs (workers’ compensation, medical leaves). Also oversees management of HR information systems to include reporting, data analysis and table maintenance.

Benefits Specialist

Responsible for providing employees of Reynolda Campus information pertaining to their benefits to include eligibility and enrollment. Responds to requests for service including complaint resolution. Conducts benefits orientation for newly hired faculty and staff. Serves as the point of contact for retiree services.


Compensation Analyst

Analyzes non-faculty exempt and non-exempt job classifications; evaluates jobs for classification and salary range assignment. Conducts and participates in salary surveys. Conducts job audits. Prepares narrative and statistical reports related to classification and compensation. Maintains University job description files; writes and revises job descriptions. Maintains job classification, salary range and employee information database. Serves as a resource and advises faculty, managers and supervisors on salary and classification issues, policies, and guidelines. Assists with annual salary increase process. Reviews and approves requests to classify new or revised position descriptions.

Responsible for benefits counseling and absence management to include maternity leave, adoption leave, leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act, workers’ compensation leave, short-term disability, long-term disability, paid time off (PTO) and sick leave reserve.


Associate Director for Professional Development

Responsible for the management and operation of the Professional Development Center (pdc.wfu.edu), which seeks to provide faculty, staff and the broader Winston-Salem community with professional, personal, and civic enrichment opportunities through education focused on management development, interpersonal skills, academic and administrative software, general technical skills, and a myriad of special interest topics. Also serves as a resource for departmental needs in the areas of team building, coaching and other management services.


Program Manager, Talent Acquisition

Responsible for the program development, management and delivery of Wake Forest’s talent acquisition.  This role will directly lead and drive candidate sourcing, staffing and recruiting for all Staff positions.  Partners across Faculty (through the Provost and Dean’s offices) and Staff Department Heads for human capital needs and implementation of approved hiring plans.
