Short Term Disability (STD)
Eligibility
Full-time staff budgeted to work 1400 or more hours per year and who have completed at least 1 year of regular full-time employment prior to an absence are covered by the STD policy
Defininition of Disability
An absence due to illness or injury that in not work related
At the onset of a short term disability, the University will continue your salary based on the following schedule:

Paid Time Off, Sick Leave (Reserve) or Leave Without Pay

6th - 130th workday
|
Salary Continuation at 60% of base pay
|
|
131st workday or
181st calendar day
|
Begin Long Term Disability if eligible, otherwise termination of employment
|

** Employees must complete the Request for Short Term Disability (Salary Continuation) form.
**On a monthly basis, you must provide re-certification of your health condition. The University reserves the right to request more frequent re-certification.
NOTE: If absence is the result of an incident in which an insurance company would normally reimburse lost wages, payment for STD will be at the discretion of the Director of Human Resources.
