Poteat Residence Hall

Poteat Residence Hall's namesake, William Louis Poteat, was an 1877 graduate of Wake Forest. President of the University from 1905-1927, he is best known for his defense of the teaching of evolution during a time when the topic was extremely controversial among scholars and theologians. Poteat Residence Hall is a co-ed, suite-style upperclass facility that houses 264 students. The campus post office and two Greek organizations are in Poteat. In both design and facilities, Poteat is similar to Kitchin Residence Hall.
