Kitchin Residence Hall
Kitchin Residence Hall was named for the ninth president of Wake
Forest University, Thurman D. Kitchin. A 1905 graduate of Wake Forest,
he guided the University administration through economic depression
and many other challenges. It was during Kitchin's administration
that the University moved from the town of Wake Forest, North Carolina,
to Winston-Salem. It was also during this time that women were admitted
to the University for the first time. Kitchin Residence Hall houses
289 upperclass students. Within this co-ed facility, there are five
Greek lounges, the Baptist Student Union (BSU) lounge, the Campus
Ministry offices, and the Deacon Shop. The open courtyard in Kitchin
allows students to enjoy a variety of recreational activities.
