Mission Statement
We, the representatives of historically established community service fraternities and sororities, in structure and background with both graduate and undergraduate chapters, recognizing the need for coordination, and cooperation in activities of inter-collegiate Greek letter fraternities and sororities, and recognizing that there are certain areas of action and programming that can best be realized by formal organizations, do hereby establish such an organization and bind ourselves to abide by the provisions of our Constitution and Bylaws.

PRESIDENT (Service/Philanthropy Chair) - Saiyani Mukombe, Kappa Alpha Psi
Responsible for all NPHC Service Projects. A chair will head the committee. The committee will determine the number of service/philanthropy projects to be done for the semester at its first official meeting. The Service/Philanthropy Committee will consist of at least one member from each member organization. It shall be the duty of this committee to design such programs as may promote the social welfare of the community and provide needed social services.

Service Committee Chair

  • Will be responsible for organizing committee meetings and reporting the results at the NPHC meetings.
  • Shall oversee planning and implementation of philanthropy projects each semester under the guidelines of the Council.

VICE PRESIDENT (Special Events Chair), Maya Yette, Delta Sigma Theta
The committee shall consist of at least one chairperson appointed by the members of his/her own organization within the rotation cycle. The duty of the committee shall be to coordinate all social affairs of the council; coordinate programs, plan events, and delegate responsibilities to sub-committees as needed. Such annual events include MLK weekend, Greek Week, and sponsored Social Events on campus.

SECRETARY (Public Relations/Awareness Chair), Ariane Datil, Delta Sigma Theta
The chair will be a member of the organization that falls in that year’s rotational cycle. It will be the duty of the chair and the committee to establish a full action plan at the beginning of the semester. It shall be the duty of this committee to consistently address adverse and positive new coverage of the new council in the form of press releases in each newsletter, the Greek Column, and any campus newspaper. To publicize every activity of the Council, as stated by the council and to submit itself to member organizations in an effort to highlight Black Greek activities on campus. The organization will set up a calendar of all activities, events, and fundraisers for the coming semester at the first meeting of the fall and spring semesters. This chair will be in charge of maintaining the website and the bulletin board.

TREASURER (Finance/Conference Chair), Anthony Williams, Phi Beta Sigma
The duties of the financial and conference planning chair will be to control all monies in and out of the NPHC and to determine which conferences the council chairs will attend in a given year. The fiscal year upon which the finances are to be governed are from June to the following May. Any checks or binding contracts that the committee engages in must be signed, by both the Finance/Conference chair and the Advisor to the board. It is the chair’s responsibility to document monies spent and provide proper proof of why the money was spent. In addition, the Finance/Conference chair is responsible for determining which conferences the four council chairs will attend. The aim of the conferences chosen should be to improve the leadership ability of the NPHC. The conferences from which to choose should include, but are not limited to, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, National and/or Regional Conference, and the National Black Greek Leadership Conference. It is also the responsibility of the Finance/Conference chair with help from the Council’s advisor to find monies needed for the conferences.
