Serving Your Fellow Man

Few experiences can give you greater personal satisfaction than the feeling of working together with your fraternity to better your community. Wake Forest fraternity men combined for countless community service hours and raise thousands of dollars for charity each academic year.

New members in a fraternity learn how and why it is important to give back to the community through service and fundraising.  You will get to see firsthand how your efforts help people who are less fortunate or who are suffering.  Approximately twenty five men from various fraternities chose to forego the traditional spring break to help rebuild the hurricane ravaged gulf coast.
Fraternity members over the past year have worked on important causes such as cancer research, campus and state beautification, mentoring and tutoring local children, and supporting local charities just to name a few.

Besides helping the community, brothers seek to help one another as well.  When a brother is sick, going through hard times, or just needs support, in a fraternity he has a built-in support network to back him up and vice-versa.  The hours of doing this are not measured and rarely recognized, but it helps make you a better person by caring for others. Wake Forest fraternities are among the first (if not the first) population targeted when local charities are in need.  Be a part of serving your community and your fellow man by joining a fraternity.

Examples of community service projects completed by current fraternities:

      • Blood Drives for the American Heart Association and the US Army Blood Drive

      • Sorority Philanthropies

      • Hit the Bricks for Brian

      • Wake-N-Shake Dance Marathon

      • Campus Clean-ups

      • Big Brothers/Big Sisters

      • Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief
