Funding

Each year, the department awards up to 4 research fellowships of up to $2000 each to undergraduates doing research outside North Carolina. Application deadlines are in the spring and fall and are announced each year. The deadlines for the 2006/07 academic year are November 1, 2006, for requests for funding for the Spring 2007 semester and March 15, 2007, for funding for the Summer and Fall Semester of 2007.

The department also has grants of up to $50 to cover copying costs for students doing research at places in North Carolina other than the Z. Smith Reynolds Library. Students should apply as they need the funds, but the grants are awarded on a first-come/first-serve basis.
