The Axis as its name implies was a centralized group, with all their land, leaders, and armies in one area in the center of Europe. How then does a nation like Japan, cast aside in an entirely different area of the world become a partner and force within this collaboration?

 

The goal of my research was to uncover what agreements were made between Germany and Japan to end up bringing about their unusual relationship. The main pacts between Germany and Japan were the Anti-Comintern Pact and the Tripartite Pact, which were the cornerstones of the alliance. Another area I focused on was the controversial Nazi-Soviet Pact, which led to great tension between Japan and Germany causing an apparent end to their alliance.
