This exhibit and museum were created during an introductory seminar on the Asia-Pacific War, taught at Wake Forest University during the spring semester 2002.

The material and opinions are those of their respective authors and do not represent the views of the University or the Department of History.

As the war progressed, Japan's inability to obtain valuable raw materials needed for wartime production resulted in a diminishing quality of wartime production of military weaponry and equipment. At the end of the war, Japan's production of infantry rifles, pistols, grenades, grenade dischargers, swords, and bayonets were made with marginal quality and materials, in drastic contrast to the quality and materials involved in the weapon produced before the war.
