Elizabeth Chmelo is currently working as an exercise physiologist with the Cooperative Lifestyle Intervention Program (CLIP) trial in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Wake Forest University.
Her areas of research are:

  1. Graded exercise testing and exercise prescription for patients with chronic diseases,
  2. Aging and physical activity,
  3. Psychological responses to physical activity.

She leads group discussions, advises exercise interventions, and meets with participants regarding their physical activity. She also serves as the safety advisor to the trial and problem solves with participants as they encounter setbacks to exercise. She has been involved in various HES research projects including, RESTORE, WALK+, and CLIP trials.
