Beth Boyd is an instructional technology analyst for the departments of Health and Exercise Science and Religion, at Wake Forest University. She also serves as the campus administrator for the web based plagiarism prevention program Turnitin. Her professional experience includes education, project management in the corporate arena, and over 15 years in the IT field. Her primary responsibility is to support faculty with technology in the classroom. She manages and supports the departments' current technologies while continuing to research and evaluate new technologies which may enhance learning or the classroom environment. Some of her service learning projects with faculty members include internet workshops for American Indian populations and courses using the case study method in the non-profit sector. Her community service includes providing exploration of careers in math, science and computer science via telementoring for young women. Her research areas include, the integration of technology in higher education and gender equity in scientific professions. Her work has been published in numerous conference proceedings.
