Information for students
Health management
- If you have symptoms and think you need to be evaluated, please call the Student Health Service at 336.758.5218 to discuss your symptoms with a health care professional.
- Students may contact the Student Health Service starting January 11 to schedule an appointment to receive the H1N1 flu vaccine.
- Wear a mask (available at Residence Life and Housing in Benson 101, your hall office and Student Health Service) to reduce risk of spreading the virus.
- The following provisions are in place to ensure you have access to meals:
- Each hall office will have "meal coupons" that a friend can redeem for you at the Fresh Food Company in exchange for a "Care Bag." One meal coupon will be exchanged for each Care Bag. Care bags contain water, soup, juice and crackers.
- You will also have the option of exchanging a meal coupon for a traditional "take out" meal from the Fresh Food Company.
- One coupon equals one meal swipe, so each coupon you use will be deducted from your meal plan.
Absence management
- Please do not attend class or participate in any extracurricular activities until free of fever (without using fever reducing medications) for at least 24 hours, per the CDC's guidelines. Please contact your professors to let them know of your situation.
