Dr. Grant P. McAllister

seminarDr. McAllister's article "The Dagger is the Pen: Violence and Writing in Lessing's Emilia Galotti" appeared in the journal Seminar the past November. His study looks at the way violence functions as a metaphor for poetic production.

Dr. Kurt Shaw

belvarosiDr. Shaw recently presented a paper at the Southern Conference on Slavic Studies (SCSS) meeting in Charlottesville, Virginia. In his paper, which he has since submitted for publication, Dr. Shaw demonstrates how the Greek myth of Hero and Leander mirrors the relationship between two of the main characters in Konrád’s novel.  Dr. Shaw is currently at work on another article dealing with themes from the same novel.
