Molly Knight received her PhD from Duke University in May 2011 and just joined the German and Russian Department at Wake Forest.

Her research focuses on 20th and 21st century German literature, film, and culture, in particular post-1989, as well as the Pop movement in both Germany and the United States. Her dissertation, "Sympathy for the Devil: Volatile Masculinities in Recent German and American Literatures," examines the violent potential of masculine identity formation in novels by Christian Kracht, Bret Easton Ellis, and Benjamin Lebert.

Further research and teaching interests include horror and the fantastic in film and literature from the 19th century to the present, as well as feminist and immigrant literatures in contemporary Germany.

Molly devotes her free time to animal rescue, vampire epics, and Swedish detective fiction.
