Wake Forest University

One of the nation's most respected private schools, Wake Forest University is a collegiate university recognized for its outstanding academic reputation, challenging liberal arts curriculum, and personalized learning. Wake Forest further distinguishes itself through its beautiful residential campus, extensive study-abroad programs, a need-blind admissions policy, sophisticated computing and networking technology, and Atlantic Coast Conference athletic programs. The university is committed to personalized education, inquiry and exploration. At Wake Forest, undergraduate classes are taught by full-time faculty, not graduate assistants. The student/faculty ratio is 10:1 and professors embody the teacher-scholar ideal of teaching and research. The heart of Wake Forest's mission is rooted in its motto, Pro Humanitate, service to humanity.

A mix of dedicated faculty teacher-scholars; curious and eager students; academic, cultural, athletic and social activities exemplify a school that is small in size, but large in resources. With fewer than 4,500 undergraduates, Wake Forest provides the intimacy and personal attention characteristic of America's most selective private institutions. Yet, Wake Forest is a world-class university with the academic reputation and research activity found at major universities. Its graduate school of arts and sciences, along with professional schools in law, medicine, management and divinity, enrich the intellectual environment and provide resources to undergraduates.

Wake Forest University ranks 28th among national universities in the new edition of US News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges" guide. The annual guide gives Wake Forest high marks for its small classes, low student-faculty ratio, high graduation and retention rates, financial resources and alumni giving.
