Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate

DHS realizes that the country's strong science and technology community provides a critical advantage in the development and implementation of counter-terrorist measures. This education program is intended to ensure a diverse and highly talented science and technology community to achieve the DHS mission and objectives. Areas of study include: physical, biological, social and behavioral sciences including science policy, engineering, mathematics, and computer science.

National Federation of the Blind Scholarship Program

The National Federation of the Blind has a large and prestigious scholarship program whose awards are madely solely to persons who are legally blind. The Federation's prgoram will award thirty scholarships to high-achieving legally blind students next summer. Awards range from $3,000 to $10,000.

James Madison Graduate Fellowships

Each year, the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Program makes available at least one graduate-level fellowship worth up to $24,000 in each state ($12,000 maximum per academic year). The program emphasizes the framing, principles and history of the Constitution. Current and prospective secondary school teachers of merican history, American government and social studies are eligible to apply.

John Gyles Education Awards

The John Gyles Education Awards are available to students in all areas of post secondary study. Applicants must have American or Canadian citizenship, a minimum 2.7 GPA, and financial need, among other considerations. Selected students will receive up to $3000. To receive an application, send a stamped, self-addressed, standard letter size envelope to this address:

Navy Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program

The Navy Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program (BDCP) provides qualified students who meet the Navy's physical requirements with up to $54,000 to complete their education. The money is sent directly to the student to spend on tuition, room, board, books, and other expenses. While there are no special requirements for BDCP students during school, they will step directly into a management role as an Officer in the Navy after graduation. Best of the Web Scholarship

All U.S. citizens aged 16 or older currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited online or campus college in the United States may apply for a $2,500 scholarship.
Deadline: September 30

Surety Bonds Scholarship Program

If you are a full-time college student who is a citizen or resident of the United States, you may apply for one of three $1,500 scholarships, by writing an essay on how small business ownership (personal, parent, grandparent, or legal guardian) has shaped you into the person you are today.
