North Carolina State Contractual Scholarships
2011-12 is the final year that private colleges and universities in North Carolina will receive
$1,140 per full-time North Carolina student, to be awarded individually
as need-based scholarships. $2,000 is a typical amount of State Contractual
Scholarship frequently awarded to students with need from North Carolina.
North Carolina Need-Based Scholarship Program
Beginning in 2012-13, there will be a new need-based state scholarship program. Individual grant amounts will vary according to the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of students who complete the FAFSA. Students who are legal residents of North Carolina with EFC's of $15,000 or less, who meet the eligibility criteria of the Federal Pell Grant Program, will be eligible.
