Q. How do I get a new account number added to my department?
A. Review the list of common
account numbers and
select the one that best suits your need. If an account number that meets your needs does not exist currently,
then a business reason must be given to create a new
account number. Email reporting@lists.wfu.edu with
questions.
Q. I would like to create a new department, what do I do?
A. Email reporting@lists.wfu.edu with the
following information: Name of new department, the department head, the
budget officer,
the vice president and a reason for creating a
new department. (new departments must be approved by Financial
Reporting).
Q. What employee class and/or account number do I use when setting
up a new positon?
A. Review the list of employee
class definitions and the account numbers associated with each; identify
which category the position/employee will fall into.

Q. How do I set up a new position?
A. Specific questions

Office. The department proposing the new position is responsible for providing ongoing funding for the position, including allocation for fringe benefits.
Q. How do I navigate through the system without the BACK button or Navigate Previous or Navigate Next?
A. You will always be able to navigate to any of the menu items on the left just by clicking on the item that you would like to go to. If you are in a form and need to navigate to another account, person, or form, you should click on Save Changes and at the Return page you will have the option of going back to the list of accounts or employees.
Q. How do I set up a proxy? Is it too late?
A. To set up a proxy you must send written authorization (via email-budget@lists.wfu.edu, FAX-4397 or campus mail) giving the name and limit of authorization (access to salaries or not) to the Budget Office. After the initial deadline for proxy set-up, please wait two days for new Proxy to be activated.
Q. What do I do if I get a "Replication/Save Conflict?"
A. Do not do anything to that account, call James Shore at x1955 and
report the department number and account number.
We will fix the error. This error was
produced by trying to Save an item when it is already
in the process of saving, in essence saving it
twice. To prevent this from occurring again, remember
that you only need to Single Click on the Save
Changes button.
A message will show on the screen when the system
has saved the change. Be patient. Do not try to
save or navigate elsewhere until the process is complete.
Q. I cannot log on, what do I do?
A. If you have trouble accessing the budget application through
WIN you should call the Information Systems help desk at ext. 4357 or
send an email to budget@lists.wfu.edu.
Q. Do I have to save my changes on each screen?
A. Yes, changes must be saved on each screen. Single click on the Save Changes button before exiting the screen. |
