Student Withdrawal InformationA student who withdraws during (begins, but does not complete) a Fall or Spring term may be entitled to a refund of certain charges as outlined in the Refund of Charges Policy as found on page 25 of the Undergraduate Bulletin. Tuition, fees, room rent, and related charges are not refunded for findings of responsibility within the undergraduate student judicial review process. Return of Title IV funds are handled in accordance with federal law. Please refer to the corresponding Refunds of Charges and Return of Financial Aid Funds to view the official Refund Policy. For Summer Session withdrawal information, please go to the Summer Session page. A withdrawing student receives a tuition refund according to the following schedule. This schedule applies to a student who drops courses, as well as to a student who withdraws:
A withdrawal must be official and students must return the University identification card before claiming a refund. There is no refund of room rent once the semester begins. The parking registration fee is non-refundable if the decal has been placed on the vehicle. Unused Deacon OneCard funds are refunded less any outstanding balances due to the University. Federal aid is refunded at a different rate than that of the University's tuition. Please be sure to consult the Office of Student Financial Aid for more information regarding the Federal Funds refund policy. A student using federal scholarships, grants, or loans to help pay educational expenses, whose account was paid in full prior to withdrawal, is likely to owe the University after withdrawal because of these policies. |
