Explanation of Fees

Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees are charged based on your registration and requirements of your program of study. If you have questions about the amount of your tuition, please review your school’s bulletin and your registration on WIN, or contact Student Financial Services. The 2008-2009 fee schedule (www.wfu.edu/fas/ar/fees.html) can be viewed on our website.

Study Abroad Fee

Undergraduates studying abroad through a non-Wake Forest program (any program not directly sponsored by the University) are assessed this fee for the semester away from campus. Your host institution will bill you directly for tuition and fees.

Housing

Charges for on-campus housing are based on your contract and housing assignment with the Office of Residence Life and Housing. Housing fee schedules (www.wfu.edu/fas/ar/fees.html) can be viewed on our website. For more information, contact Residence Life and Housing (www.wfu.edu/housing) or (336) 758-5185

Deacon Dollars

Deacon Dollars may be used on campus for both food and non-food item purchases at the College Bookstore, Benson Food Court, Subway, campus convenience stores, Student Health Service, Financial Services, etc. It is recommended that students place $1,000 per semester on their card for non-meal plan purchases. Deacon Dollars are nonrefundable until a student graduates or separates from the University.

Dining Plan

The dining plan is separate from Deacon Dollars. All students living on campus are required to purchase a minimum dining plan depending on their residence hall. Dining plans are also available for students who do not reside on campus.  The dining plan may be used in the Fresh Food Company (Pit) or the Magnolia Room. (Other campus dining facilities accept Deacon Dollars, as explained above, or cash.)

Unused meals carry over from week to week (with the exception of All-in-One plans) through the end of the semester, but not from one semester to another. If you do not make a choice, the minimum dining plan for your residence hall area will automatically be billed to your student account.

Dining plans are processed through Residence Life and Housing. Questions or requests to change plans should be directed to housing@wfu.edu or (336) 758-5185.

Auto Registration

You must register your automobile through WIN (win.wfu.edu): under the “Personal” tab, select “Register your vehicle for a WFU parking decal”.  Upon completion of automobile registration, the appropriate registration fee will be charged to your account in Student Financial Services. It is recommended that payment for auto registration be included with the corresponding semester’s tuition payment.  The registration fee for freshmen is $225 for 2008–09. (All freshmen are required to park in the Student Drive lot across Polo Road from campus.) The fee for upperclassmen is $500 for 2008–09.

Parking Fines

Any traffic fines incurred will be listed on your billing statement. Appeals to the Traffic Commission must be made within seven days of the violation. For more information, please contact Parking Management (www.wfu.edu/police) or (336) 758-6123

Health Service Fee & Charges

A non-refundable student health fee of $158 per semester will be charged to all full-time Reynolda Campus students. Clinic charges that are not paid at the time of service are included on your statement. For more information, contact Student Health Service at (336) 758-5218.

Transcript Fee

A non-refundable one-time transcript fee of $50 is charged to all full and part-time undergraduate, graduate and divinity school students.
