Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors Society, recognizes and encourages distinguished achievement in English language and literature by undergraduate and graduate students, scholars, and professional writers. Through chapters at almost four hundred colleges and universities in the United States, Sigma Tau Delta offers exceptional students of English opportunities to participate in intellectual, social, and service activities at the local, regional, and national levels. The Wake Forest chapter, founded in 1990, has played an important role in the activities of the English Department. To qualify for membership, students must have a 3.0 average in English after completing at least two upper-level courses in the department, must rank in the upper 35 percent of their class, and must have completed at least three semesters. Interested students should contact Dr. Moss for further information. |
