Mission Statement
The mission of the Wake Forest University Department of Education is to broadly educate future teachers to meet the challenges of the 21st century diverse public school population. Of central importance to our mission is our commitment to preparing teachers with backgrounds rich in content and pedagogy to work caringly and effectively with diverse populations of children, ensure equal educational opportunity for all children, and use current learning theory to guide the reflective reform of educational practice.
