The Four Blocks Framework is for first, second, and third grade. There are many books now available for these grade levels. Our new books (2008) have separate Teachers Guides for each of these three grade levels, Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade3.
Building Blocks is the Four Blocks program for kindergarten. You will find books, a planbook, and bulletin board packages for K.The new Month by Month Reading, Writing, and Phonics for Kindergarten (2008) updates the Teacher's Guide to Building Blocks.
Big Blocks is what we call our "Upper Grades" (grades 4-8) program. In May 2005 we completed the Teachers Guide to Big Blocks and it replaced Modifying the Four Blocks for the Upper Grades. Along with the previous Month-by-Month Phonics books including one for the Upper Grades we now have Month by Month Phonics for Gr 4 and 5. For students who need a lot of basic work in Phonics the "Upper Grades" book is more applicable. For students who have had Month by Month Phonics in Grades 1, 2, and 3 they should continue on with Month by Month Phonics for Grades 4 and 5.
Also, in August of 2011 we will have product available in the Really Good Stuff Catalog. This catalog comes to all schools twice a year.
In 2008 we have new Making Words books (for K, and Grades 1,2,3,4,and 5) available from Pearson/Allyn Bacon and these will be in the Really Good Stuff Catalog in August 2011..

Pat's wrote Systematic, Sequential Phonics They Use. We call it "SSP." This book contains 140 making words lessons that follow a traditional phonics scope and sequence. It can be used by "special" teachers or tutors, either one-on-one or with a small group of students in grades 1 or 2. The word cards for these lessons are now in a box----that matches the cover of the book. Most "regular" classrooms need Making Words for their grade level (K, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) not this book.
Prefixes and Suffixes: Sequential, Systematic
Phonics II (or SSP2) is for small groups of children or "special teachers"
or tutors in third and fourth grade who still need this. Regular classroom
need Making Words by grade level.
