Look for it!! The Four Blocks Framework is for first, second, and third grade. There are many books now available for these grade levels. Our new books (2008) have separate Teachers Guides for each of these three grade levels, Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade3. Building Blocks is the Four Blocks program for kindergarten. You will find books, a planbook, and bulletin board packages for K.The new Month by Month Reading, Writing, and Phonics for Kindergarten (2008) updates the Teacher's Guide to Building Blocks. Big Blocks is what we call our "Upper Grades" (grades 4-8) program. In May 2005 we completed the Teachers Guide to Big Blocks and it replaced Modifying the Four Blocks for the Upper Grades. Along with the previous Month-by-Month Phonics books including one for the Upper Grades we now have Month by Month Phonics for Gr 4 and 5. For students who need a lot of basic work in Phonics the "Upper Grades" book is more applicable. For students who have had Month by Month Phonics in Grades 1, 2, and 3 they should continue on with Month by Month Phonics for Grades 4 and 5. Also available our books for the other blocks: Guided Reading the Four Blocks Way, Self-Selected Reading the Four Blocks Way, and Writing the Four Blocks Way. The word cards for these lessons are now in a box----that matches the cover of the book. Most "regular" classrooms need Making Words for their grade level (K, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) not this book. Prefixes and Suffixes: Sequential, Systematic
Phonics II (or SSP2) is for small groups of children or "special
teachers" or tutors in third and fourth grade who still need this.
Regular classroom need Making Words by grade level.
