readme.txt Starting point for emtexgi documentation. Version 2.08 Beta of October 21 1997 * If you are interested in an installation of TeX/LaTeX for Windows from scratch, please go to features.txt and then -- if you are sufficiently interested -- go to install.txt. * If you are updating from a previous version of emtexgi, please consult the web page www.wfu.edu/Academic-departments/Economics/ftp/update.htm * If you already have an emTeX installation but not emtexgi... Well, if it is an up-to-date emTeX, it may be worth your while giving emtexgi a go. I would recommend unzipping emtexgi.zip in a temporary directory and taking a look at the stuff. The basic unit is emtexgi.exe (16-bit) or emtexgi2.exe (32-bit) plus one or other of emtexgi.cfg or emtexgi2.cfg. Take a look at the .cfg file and see if it appears to require customization. You may also need dll31.zip or dll95.zip, which contain various Windows DLLs for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 (or NT) respectively. You may also find the file manifest.txt useful. It gives a brief account of where things are put by default if you run emtex.bat for an installation from scratch, along with a brief description of the function of the bits and pieces. Allin Cottrell
