WFU Study Abroad Program in Japan:
Kansai Gaidai University
The WFU program in Japan is located at Kansai Gaidai University in Hirakata, near Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe. The university enrolls 14,000 students annually and has an international student population of over 400. All international students are enrolled in the Asian Studies Program, which is designed to provide international students with a means of exploring Japan and Asian studies through classroom instruction and interaction with Japanese people. A Wake Forest faculty member accompanies the students to Hirakata and oversees the program. Students are required to take a Japanese language course, and may choose from a variety of courses in areas such as Business, Economics, Social Sciences, and Humanities, and the Arts. The courses are taught in English by Kansai Gaidai faculty.

WFU/SASASAAS Study Abroad Program in Beijing, China:
Capital Normal University
The Beijing program is based at Capital Normal University (CNU), a key national university located in the central western part of Beijing. The program is administered by Wake Forest in cooperation with Chinese Educational Tours (CET), and is offered to the SASASAAS (South Atlantic States Association for Asian and African Studies) consortium of 23 member institutions in North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. With nearly 10,000 undergraduate students and a sizeable graduate population, the campus is a vibrant community of students from Beijing and other parts of China. A faculty member from one of the SASASAAS schools accompanies the students to Beijing, oversees the program, and teaches one course. All students take intensive Chinese language (8 hours) and two area studies courses taught in English (3 hours each).
