Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) is an honor society within the Counseling profession, which recognizes and promotes excellence in academics, professional development and the practice of counseling. The Pi Alpha Chapter of CSI was established at Wake Forest University in 1991. The WFU Department of Counseling is home to the Pi Alpha Chapter of CSI. Membership within this chapter is available to students who have completed their first semester of graduate classes and have met national application requirements. The officers of Pi Alpha are elected by the rising second-year students and serve one-year terms. As of September 2009, there were 17 active student Pi Alpha members and over 240 alums of this chapter. Spring initiation could boast the largest number of initiates in the history of the Pi Alpha Chapter.
