Donna Henderson elected president of CSI (International Counseling Honor Society)

Henderson will serve as President-elect of CSI in 2007-2008 and as President in 2008-2009. Henderson also attended the NBCC International Conference in New Delhi, India that focused on expanding mental services to third world countries in cooperation the World Health Organization. This past year, she also traveled to Mexico to participate as a Subject Matter Expert on a curriculum development project that is an effort of NBCC endorsed by WHO to train mental health facilitators across the world. Henderson is co-author of a global curriculum that will be used in dozens of developing countries yearly.

Sam Gladding receives two top awards at the 2007 ACA Convention

Sam Gladding received the Wrenn Award for a Humanitarian and Caring Person and was named an ACA Fellow for significant and unique contributions in the field of counseling. During 2007-2008, he also addressed the International Counseling Conference in Australia and led a trip for ACA to South Africa.

Laura Veach receives the IAAOC Addictions/Offender Educator Excellence Award and the WFU Graduate School 2007 Faculty Excellence Award

1.Laura Veach received the IAAOC Addictions/Offender Educator Excellence Award at the 2007 ACA convention. She was also named the 2007 outstanding teacher in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The award was given at the hooding ceremony and is based on nominations submitted by her students.
