- Classes are interrupted on Sept. 11, 2001, as students and faculty watch in horror as the second plane crashes….
- Sam Gladding serves as a volunteer counselor to families of victims of 9-11-2001 terrorist attacks in New York.
- Donna Henderson serves as President of the North Carolina Counseling Association. Veach is the President of NCACES division and Pamela Karr serves as Treasurer of the NCCA.
- WFU student Pi Alpha chapter of CSI wins Outstanding National Chapter of the Year and Outstanding Newsletter. Students raise money to travel to ACA convention in New Orleans to accept award.
- Program goes to 60 hours for students entering Fall 2002 (optional for classes of 2002 & 2003)
- CACREP self-study occupies faculty. Reaccreditation granted formaximum 8 years through 2010• Courtland Lee, former president of ACA, is CSI initiation speaker.
