The
Department views the student/advisor relationship as a crucial one
for the student’s growth and development as well as for the
Department’s fulfillment of its University mission. Providing
sound academic advice is a central feature of a faculty member’s
role in the teacher-scholar model at Wake Forest University. It
is the student’s responsibility to sign up for advising once
the advising period is announced. Students should make every effort
to keep these appointments or re-schedule them in advance. In the
advising session, students and advisors will review academic progress
and select courses for upcoming terms. During the advising session
students should be prepared to ask questions regarding their status
and progress. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT TO KEEP APPRISED
OF ACADEMIC STATUS AND PROGRESS TOWARD GRADUATION. Students should
prepare for their advising session by reviewing their academic audits
on WIN and planning tentative course schedules, complete with alternative
courses.
