Autobiography Title:
Chemical X
(Kudos to everyone who gets the Powerpuff reference.)
I was born in Xi'an, China, and lived there until I was ten. Then I moved to Pennsylvania, Illinois, and eventually North Carolina. I'm willing to paint any surface that will remain still, and I'm a huge Beatles fan. I'd like to learn to play the violin, sew and dance.
I visited Wake Forest one weekend and fell in love. Wake Forest has a sterling reputation, excellent academics and extraordinary opportunities, and it's just the right size. The scenery doesn't hurt, either. I attended a philosophy class when I visited and I was totally hooked, even though it was completely over my head. I still have the notes I took. If I weren't going to college I would backpack through Europe and visit all the museums.
I'm thinking about majoring in biology with a minor in biochemistry, but who knows. I tend to get enthusiastic about subjects that aren't even vaguely related to what I'm supposed to be doing. I would be totally happy being a mad scientist. But reality would probably be more along the lines of medicine.
What excites me most about starting Wake Forest is that it's a totally new start, and one of the most defining and decisive ones I'll have in my life. This is where I'm meant to be. Getting the Nancy Susan Reynolds Scholarship was like a sign from above. This is a chance to break out and do something amazing with my life, and I'm very grateful. I've a whole bunch of things I want to do with this fresh canvas I've been given, but then again sometimes the most wonderful parts of a piece of art are the accidents.
