Autobiography Title:
The Search for Truth

I'm a first generation American. My parents are from the Ukraine. I'm fortunate to be bilingual in English and Russian (although not as proficient in Russian as I would wish!).

Wake Forest appealed to me because of its support for the arts. I have danced ballet throughout my life, spending summers watching and training with the New York City Ballet, while also acting alongside professional actors at the Barter Theatre in Virginia. I think the fact that I successfully balanced, for the most part, my academic and extracurricular endeavors says something about how I'll deal with life's various responsibilities.

Having been awarded a Presidential Arts Scholarship has been so extraordinarily humbling. The day I found out I had received it, I was absolutely ecstatic! Not only has this scholarship assisted in making my coming to Wake Forest possible, but it also makes my continuing involvement in theatre that much more special.

My plans are to major in political science with a double minor in Russian and Latin-American studies, to prepare for a career in International diplomacy. It was obvious to me during my visits that Wake Forest instills in students an appreciation for other areas besides one's intended major. This, in turn, leads to students graduating as highly well-rounded individuals, something I hope I will accomplish during my journey at Wake Forest.
