To encourage ecumenically sensitive worship, as a sign of, and stimulus to, reconciliation in the Body of Christ.
We believe that the spirit of Wake Forest is enriched every time we gather as Christians of all denominations and beliefs in praise of God. The message of Thursday Chapel is that we're not so different after all... we can work and worship together. It is also our belief that true unity is not sought by pretending that there are no differences, but by recognizing and respecting those differences, while focusing on the great truths that all Christians share.
In this context, our Thursday Chapel Planning Committee works with two primary goals:
- To promote understanding of and mutual respect for the many differences in forms of worship on our campus.
- To seek creative, practical ways for shared worship among campus ministries, in order to overcome some of our sense of separation from one another.
