The Candidate's Turn to Ask Questions
THE STUDENT'S (CANDIDATE'S) TURN TO ASK QUESTIONS
When an interviewer asks the candidate "Now, do you have any
questions?" the candidate should always have questions.
- Ask your most important questions first in case your interviewer
is on a tight time frame.
- Ask questions which are concrete but not so basic that an employer
assumes you have not done your research.
- Do not ask questions about salary and benefits in the first interview.
Suggested questions:
- What qualities would the ideal candidate possess?
- To whom would I report?
- What are the opportunities for professional growth?
- Describe the typical first-year assignments.
- Describe a typical day on the job.
- How would you describe the work environment?
- How is an employee evaluated and promoted?
- Why do you enjoy working for this organization?
- Will you explain your initial and future training programs?
- What is the typical career path for someone in this position?
- How would you describe the management style in this organization?
- How is the company involved in the community?
