Alumni Services

We are happy to make available to you at no fee the following resources:

  • Telephone consultations by appointment.**
  • Alumni Career Assistance Program - alumni networking contacts in occupational and geographical areas of interest. ACAP is now available online through WIN. You can access WIN here. Once you have logged into WIN, chose the Alumni Career Networking directory and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Career Services web site with important information on networking, resumes, and interviewing, as well as links to job listing databases including MonsterTrak (password available from Career Services office). Visit the WFU Alumni page to access a directory of regional alumni clubs and WIN (Wake Information Network), an online directory of WFU alumni.

If you are able to visit our office, the following additional resources are available:

  • Career Resource Center of reference books, magazines, and newsletters for a variety of industries.
  • Job listings
  • Individual counseling appointments (limited to 3).
  • Career Testing offered at the Counseling Center - please contact the Counseling Center directly at 336-758-5273.

** The total number of individual appointments in person or on the phone is limited to three and is subject to the availability of counseling staff. If additional counseling is needed, we suggest that you contact the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) at 336-547-0607 to obtain a list of counselors in private practice in your locality.

Other career resources can be found locally at the public library and the Chamber of Commerce (ask for a list of local businesses). Public universities may allow you to use some of their resources. The following career books are recommended by our staff for alumni in career transition and may be found at the public library or at a bookstore: What Color Is Your Parachute? by Richard Bolles; Do What You Are by Paul Tieger and Barbara Barron-Tieger; and The New Rules of the Job Search Game by Jackie Larson and Cheri Comstock.

We wish you well in your career transition. Please contact us for additional information about these services or to make an individual appointment.
