What will you do on staff?

Working for Outdoor Pursuits is way more than just a job. Its really more like being part of a club or a family where everyone loves being outdoors and just happens to get paid for it too! This makes it a wonderfully unique opportunity but also one that is fairly time consuming. However, don't let this part of the job scare you, because everyone at OP is also involved in a variety of other campus organizations. You should also know that no prior outdoor experience is necessary to be a successful leader! We will give you all the training you need. All you have to bring to the table is a willingness to work hard, the boldness to expand your horizons (sometimes quite literally) and a passionate love of the great outdoors!

To get a better idea of what you will be involved in at OP here is a list of some of the things we do:
-Weekly Office Hours – planning trips, advertising, renting gear, cleaning/repairing gear
-Weekly Staff Meetings
-Staff Trainings and Certifications – in the past we have done Wilderness First Aid and Swiftwater Rescue
-Supervising the CRUX Bouldering Wall
-Staffing Kayak Roll Clinics
-Large Group OP Meetings
