My mother died of cancer when I was only eight years old, and within two years my father also passed away. My sister, only twenty years old at the time, did the best she could to continue raising me. Although I dreamed of going to Wake Forest, my sister was opposed for obvious financial reasons. but I never wavered. Thanks to the generosity of others, my dream was fulfilled and I feel like the luckiest person alive. If I have one goal as I go forward, no matter where my life shall take me, it is to fulfill someone else's hopes and dreams and make a meaningful difference in the life of a young person.
