The Annual Funds

Giving Opportunities
Online Giving Form »

YOU CAN HELP provide exceptional academic opportunities and experiences for every Wake Forest student through your gift to the Annual Funds. Eighteen percent of the campaign goal is projected to come from the Annual Funds during the five-year campaign period. Each fund will have aggressive goals to raise unrestricted funds for a variety of purposes. Annual Fund campaigns run from July 1 to June 30 each year.

Because gifts to the Annual Funds are unrestricted, each school can use those gifts wherever the need is greatest. Annual Funds gifts benefit every student and professor in some way by providing additional funding for:

  • Scholarships and financial aid to help students afford a private education
  • Faculty development to allow professors to pursue their scholarly and research interests
  • Curricular and co-curricular initiatives, such as study abroad and leadership development programs
  • Capital expenditures to maintain the University's outstanding facilities and beautiful campus

Every gift — no matter what amount — does make a difference. Combining your gift with the gifts of thousands of other donors provides about $5 million in operating funds each year, the equivalent of $100 million in new endowment. That's an additional $5 million each year for scholarships, faculty salaries, research funds, and academic and co-curricular programs. Just as important, a high percentage of support from those closest to the University is often necessary to attract gifts from foundations and corporations and is one of the factors used to determine the University's ranking in various publications.

Your gift will help provide the exceptional academic opportunities and experiences that distinguish a Wake Forest education. While many universities are cutting back, Wake Forest is increasing faculty and course offerings, awarding more financial aid, and offering more research and study-abroad opportunities for students. You can help make those things possible and make a difference in a young person's life.

You are invited to give to the Annual Fund of your choice.

Planned Gifts

AS YOU CONSIDER your gift to Wake Forest, you should be familiar with the many ways that gifts may be made. While tax consequences are seldom the primary motive in philanthropy, they often play a role in determining the method of giving.

For many donors, a planned gift is the best way to support Wake Forest and ensure their own or their family's financial security at the same time. A planned gift may allow you to make a larger gift than would otherwise be possible and provide substantial tax savings. Some types of planned gifts even provide income from donated assets for you or your family, now or in the future.

Ultimately, your planned gift will be used by Wake Forest for the purposes that you specify.
