| Location: |
Room B316, Tribble Hall |
| Description: |
In "Fear and Trembling" Kierkegaard's pseudonym Johannes de silentio argues that either it must be true that faith can justify Abraham's willingness to sacrifice Isaac (in the Genesis story often called "the binding of Isaac") or else Abraham is a murderer. Silentio furthermore argues that if historical scholarship reveals that Abraham's situation somehow differs significantly from our own, then the story has no relevance or value to us.
