Kathryn Montgomery, Julia & David Uihlein Professor of Medical Humanities and Bioethics & Professor of Medicine, Graduate Director, Medical Humanities and Bioethics Program,
Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, draws on her exploration of clinica thinking in "Doctors' Stories: The Narrative Structure of Medical Knowedge" (Princeton 1991) and "How Doctors Think: Clinical Judgment and the Practice of Medicine" (Oxford 2006). Attendees are invited to read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "A Study in Scarlet" before the seminar; it can be downloaded free as an ebook or PDF from project Gutenberg, www.gutenberg.org. A reception follows.
