Brian White began his career when he signed with the NFL New England Patriots and the National Lacrosse League Boston Blazers. After White suffered a career-ending injury, he was introduced to the professional modeling world and co-founded a professional dance/theater company, Phunk Phenomenon Urban Dance Theater Company. White then began acting on the screen as Detective Tavon Garris on "The Shield" and Sylvester, the leader of the Theta Nu Theta fraternity in the musical-drama "Stomp the Yard."
2012 kicked off with two major film releases: a co-starring turn in Tyler Perry's new romantic drama, "Good Deeds," and starring in the horror film "The Cabin in the Woods."
White is also the author of Black Carpenter, a multi-platform youth development program. According to White, "The purpose of Black Carpenter is to create a tool box of essential life
skills for the next generation. I had the great fortune of being born into a family with strong values who gave me the courage to follow my dreams and reach for the stars. My mother and
father instilled in me a sense of purpose not defined by today's street obsession with bling, cars or cribs. Black Carpenter is as much their message of hope, perseverance and achievement for
young people, as it is mine." |
