Professor Michaelis Michael, senior lecturer, University of New South Wales, Australia will present a new approach to presupposition, based on the idea that assertion is an action and therefore liable to explanation in the same ways all actions are. The upshot is a simple theory of presupposition fundamentally different from standard approaches.
