| Description: |
Musicologist/Pianist William Kinderman is professor of musicology at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. His book, Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations (Oxford UP, 1989; rev. 1999, 2009) established him as the world’s leading authority on this important work, which he has also recorded for the Arietta label. Professor Kinderman’s visit to Wake Forest, thanks to the generosity of IPLACe, is linked to Winston-Salem’s FestivalStage’s production of Moisés Kaufman’s drama, 33 Variations, which will be performed February 1-24 at the Hanesbrands Theater. Professor Kinderman and his wife, Katherine Syer were consultants to the playwright. |
