Kilauea Point Natural History Association

Return to the Hawaii Study
Kilauea Point Natural History Association's logoThe Kilauea Point Natural History Association works in cooperation with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to promote interpretive, educational, and scientific projects that focus on Hawaii's unique natural history.  Due to Hawaii's geographic isolation, its islands present self-contained ecosystems that are among the most  interesting in the world.

KPNHA is a non-profit, tax exempt, educational corporation.  Gifts to the association are tax deductible.  Independent of government funding, its work is sustained by memberships, contributions, and sales from a shop it operates at Kilauea Point.  A wide variety of items are available at the shop, including information on the endangered plant and animal species that are seen during a visit to the refuge.  All proceeds are used by the Association to further its educational, scientific, and interpretive goals.  The albatross tracking project at Kilauea Point is an example of our funding projects reflecting our goals.  If you wish to join our Association and receive a brochure that will give you membership benefit information (family membership is $15.00), write to KPNHA, P.O. Box 1130, Kilauea, HI 96754.
