Adam
Pecina is a vital contributor to the success of the Wake
Forest women's soccer, men's tennis and cheer/dance teams. Pecina
begins his eighth season working with the Demon Deacon Sports Medicine
Department.
Pecina works with the women's soccer and men's tennis teams
on a daily basis, attending every practice and game. Not only does
he provide immediate care of injuries that may occur, Pecina also
develops programs for the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries.
He works closely with on-site medical doctors that serve as the team's
physicians.
Pecina spent his first two years working with the Demon
Deacon football team.
Pecina received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology
from the University of Texas -Austin in 1998. While at Texas, Pecina
worked with the football and baseball teams.
Pecina then earned his Master's of Education degree
in Health and Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Tyler. Pecina
was the head trainer for the Tyler Junior College baseball program,
while assisting with soccer, volleyball, football and men's basketball.
Pecina was selected by the United States Olympic Committee
(USOC) as an athletic trainer for the men's and women's tennis teams
during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.
Pecina is certified through the National Athletic Trainers
Association and licensed by the North Carolina Athletic Trainers Association.
Pecina resides in Winston-Salem.
