A professor of American art history at Yale and one of the most admired and controversial figures in the field, will talk about what he discerns as an internal dialogue between the poems of his late father, the acclaimed poet Howard Nemerov, and the photographs of his father's sister, Diane Arbus.
The lecture has been scheduled by Reynolda House in conjunction with the opening of the new Arbus exhibition on the previous day.

Heartney has written for Art in America, Artforum, and the New York
