2004 David Lubin will deliver the 2004 Eldredge Prize lecture at 4 p.m. on October 7, when he will speak on the topic "Life After Death: JFK, Dallas, and Modern Visual Culture." Lubin, Charlotte C. Weber Professor of Art at Wake Forest University, won this year's Charles C. Eldredge Prize for Distinguished Scholarship in American Art for his book Shooting Kennedy: JFK and the Culture of Images (University of California Press, 2003). A panel of three jurors recognized the book as an outstanding study of American postwar visual culture and photojournalistic images of Jacqueline and John F. Kennedy during the decade of their marriage from 1953 to 1963. Book Lectures.. |
