Artist Statement (excerpt)

Windows control our view, offering a perspective from a particular vantage point. They function as a means of access or observation. They can be openings, or frameworks for openings. It seems to be the human condition to treat life as a window, using it as a means to both view what is actually on the other side, and to reveal what we want to be seen. The ambiguity often is unclear as to what is actually being viewed: the transparency often creates a continual play between interior and exterior. Windows distort forms, providing a distortion of what is real or tangible and what is on the surface. From within their structure emerge physical manifestations. This brings to question what one is actually viewing and what is real.....
