GUIDELINES for the 06 WFU Student Art Exhibition

 
Submissions will be accepted in the Hanes Art Gallery@ Scales Fine Art Center, March 30 - April 5.
All submissions must be made before 10 am April 5 (Wednesday).
     Submissions will be accepted during regular gallery hours
     Wed-Fri 10 am-5 pm
     Sat-Sun 1-5 pm
Work not in the gallery by 10 am April 5, or not in exhibitable condition will not be accepted.

Up to 4 pieces may be submitted by each student.  
2 Each piece must have an Identification Label attached that contains:
     artist name
     phone number
     e-mail address
     Title, date, media
     Price
(if for sale) or indicate
     NFS (not for sale)
Labels will be available at the gallery desk
Works with multiple parts will need a label for each part
 
3 All paintings must be dry and ready to hang. Do not bring a work that is not fully dry; contact the gallery if you know that will be a problem.  
4 Works on paper (incl. photography) must be matted or mounted on clean matboard with straight edges, stiff enough to stand upright. If you need assistance, contact your instructor. An even border around the piece no less than 1 and no more than 3 inches is required.  
5 Large sculpture may be left in the studio area for judging, but an entry form, description and location must be filled out in the gallery during submission hours.
Inform your instructor and the gallery if you plan to submit installation work or other pieces that require special attention.
Accepted large works must be brought into the gallery by the artist on April 6.
 
6 Selected work must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show (Honors students are encouraged to enter the Student Exhibition; work can be removed from the Main Gallery for the duration of their individual shows.)
Work NOT selected for exhibition must be removed from the gallery by Friday, April 7 before 5 pm.
 
7 At the close of the exhibition all artwork must be claimed between 10 am and 5 pm May 16 - 18 . After May 18th, the gallery is no longer responsible for the work. Remaining work will be removed to the studio corresponding to its medium, and can be recovered the first week of classes in the fall. After that it will be discarded.
