Dr. Whittington has been Director of the Museum of Anthropology and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology since 2002. He is a bioarcheologist who has excavated and studied human skeletal material from Maya sites in Honduras and Guatemala. He is currently directing a survey of colonial and pre-Columbian Mixtec settlements and helping to set up a community museum in Oaxaca, Mexico. He teaches courses periodically on museum anthropology and Mesoamerican archeology. Dr. Whittington also serves as the treasurer of the Southeastern Museums Conference.

Ms. Hancock has been at the Museum since 1980. She oversees public education programs and researches, designs and installs exhibits. She supervises university students working on exhibits and guest lectures on topics concerning anthropology and museums for university classes.

Tina Smith

Ms. Smith teaches curriculum-based, object oriented classes on various world cultures and archeology for school children in grades K through 8. She researches, designs, and presents thematic Summer Camps for Children and specially requested outreach programs in the Winston-Salem community. Tina plans on completing her Master of Arts in Applied Art History at the University of South Carolina in December 2006.

Ms. Bryner is working for the Museum under a Museums for America grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. She manages, edits and updates the Museum’s computerized database in preparation for an upcoming web based version. Ms. Bryner maintains the Museum's collections and storage facilities and supervises all student work in the collections department.

Sara Cromwell

Ms. Cromwell has been with the Museum since August 2005. Sara coordinates and oversees the day to day operations of the Museum, greets visitors, supervises student assistants, and is the membership secretary for the MOA Friends.
