Can you find something that you might wear on your head? (Eagle feather headdress). This headdress is not worn anymore, but a long time ago it was worn by a man on the Great Plains to show how important he was. Can you think of any things we wear to show that we are important? (ex: Medals or awards, business suits, crowns…)
Sometimes head dresses like this are still worn at special celebrations called pow-wows. At pow-wows Native Americans enjoy dancing, singing, playing games and visiting with friends. |
